MDConvert ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our file conversion tool at mdconvert.example.com.

2. No Data Collection

MDConvert is a fully client-side application. All file processing happens entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. We do not:

  • Upload your files to any server
  • Store copies of your files
  • Transmit file contents over the network
  • Log or track the files you process
  • Use cookies for tracking purposes

3. How File Conversion Works

When you upload a file for conversion:

  1. The file is read into your browser's memory using the File API.
  2. All conversion processing (HTML parsing, OCR, PDF text extraction, etc.) runs locally.
  3. The resulting Markdown is displayed in your browser and can be copied or downloaded.
  4. Once you close or refresh the page, all file data is cleared from memory.

Your file never leaves your device. No network requests containing your file data are made at any point during the conversion process.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Advertising

We may use Google AdSense to display advertisements. AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve relevant ads. These cookies are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and are not controlled by MDConvert. You can learn more about Google's advertising practices at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

4.2 Hosting

This website is hosted as a static site. The hosting provider may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for operational purposes. These logs are not accessible to us and are subject to the hosting provider's privacy policy.

5. Cookies

MDConvert itself does not set any cookies. However, if we display advertisements via Google AdSense, Google may set cookies for ad personalization. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings or via Google's Ad Settings.

6. Local Storage

We use your browser's localStorage solely to remember your dark mode preference (light or dark theme). This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server.

7. Data Security

Because no file data is transmitted over the network, there is no risk of data interception during conversion. Your files remain on your device at all times.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
